Brawn & Brains, an interesting choice of words to name a cafe after. If you are looking for a place to dawdle or read a book while enjoying a nice cuppa, this is defo your cafe to visit.
Situated along Guillemard Road in what seems like a very old sports hall is where you will find this coffee shop. If you are taking the public transport (as parking is always quite limited), alight at Mountbatten station and walk.
We suggest visiting on a weekday as seats are quite limited. Weekends are filled with the family crowd and kids will ruin the whole “chill-out” vibe making it not conducive for anything.
Coffee are all served double ristretto (shots), great for hangovers or a late night cure. And again there is no soy-milk option, please take note for the lactose intolerant. There is also Babycino, which is a great beverage option for children or for those coffee virgins who like drinking milk and foam.
We ordered the Open Faced Toast that comes with a slow cooked egg and a choice of either smoked salmon or grilled bacon. There is also the wraps which are quite popular (it seems) and other baked goods. For food, the variety is quite limited and don’t expect hearty portions. But if you are fine with healthy light bites or a sweet dessert, nothing would go wrong at Brawn & Brains.
