Rice & Fries sure sounds like a mouthful of carbs. And sure it was, carbs that were worth eating because the food was simply delicious.
The kind people behind Rice & Fries has invited us for lunch and we were spoilt for choice when we arrived at this quaint little restaurant located a short stroll away from Kembangan Station along Changi Road. The menu is quite extensive and there were many choices (mostly western and some asian or asian-infused) to choose from.
Between their Signature Lamb Shank to other dishes that comes with rice or fries or pasta, we decided on the Salted Egg Yolk Pasta with Deep Fried Battered Prawns and the Foie Gras & Steak Risotto. We also had the Garlic Escargots, Singapore Style Chilli Soft Shell Crab and a side of Truffle Fries.
The food was satisfying to say the least, as the chef/owner came from a fine-dining/hotel background. What we really liked about Rice & Fries was the homely feel (feel free to write a pithy saying on their wall) and the affordability of the food. There was nothing pretentious, just purely about the food.
Rice and fries and everything nice. We give it two thumbs up!
