The new Straits Cafe is a touch of modern set amidst familiar grounds with new heritage dishes in its buffet line-up.
Tucked away at the tail end of Orchard Road within the vibrant arts enclave, Straits Cafe, a restaurant nestled in Rendezvous Hotel has recently undergone a facelift and has finally reopened its doors. The restaurant’s new facade boasts a myriad of bold colours and geometric accents, a generous use of marble and wood furnishing, and several decorative highlights such as rustic Chinese baskets, vintage enamelware of tingkat, plates and mugs, and quirky display pieces, creating a contemporary dining setting with a touch of traditional that is sure to encapsulate a cosy dining experience for all.
But what’s really exciting is Straits Cafe’s new highlights on the buffet line. Offering an extensive spread of up to 50 buffet items inclusive of 15 new dishes. Diners can look forward to a whole range of new hot items such as Wok-fried Mee Rebus, Pork Ribs Soup with Cordycep Flower, Baked Sweet Miso Salmon, Lamb Rendang Lasagne and Black Pepper Fried Carrot Cake.
However, the real star of this buffet line is none other than the Deep Sea King Prawn Crispy Noodles, which is a medley of succulent king prawns and scallops wok-fried together with ginger and spring onions, served with a glistening broth of seafood stock over crispy egg noodles – it’s hard not to salivate!
You wouldn’t want to miss out their all-time signature favourites either, which includes popular local dishes such as Nonya Laksa, Popiah, Kueh Pie Tee and Rojak that will leave you coming back for seconds and thirds.
